How to find a profitable niche

This guide walks you through the full pipeline: collecting pains, clustering them, generating opportunity analysis, and validating with real outreach.

The pipeline

1. Collect pain points (Pain Radar)
2. Cluster into themes (Pain Clusters)
3. Score each cluster
4. Generate opportunity document (Niche Discovery)
5. Validate with real outreach

Step 1: Collect pain points

Pain cards are the raw material. Go to Pain Radar to see your collected pains.

Pain cards come from:

  • AI extraction — from lead notes and conversations
  • Manual creation — when you hear someone complain about a problem

Each pain card has:

  • Summary of the pain
  • Pain score (intensity)
  • Urgency score
  • Commercial intent score (will they pay?)

Aim for 50+ pain cards before clustering for meaningful results.

Step 2: Run clustering

Go to Pain RadarClusters tab (at the top, or navigate to /pain-radar/clusters).

Click Run Clustering to let the AI group similar pains. Instead of 200 individual complaints, you'll see 8-12 themes:

  • "CRM too expensive for small teams" (45 mentions)
  • "Email deliverability is a nightmare" (38 mentions)
  • "No good PM tool for freelancers" (31 mentions)

Step 3: Read cluster scores

Each cluster is scored (0-100) on four dimensions:

ScoreWhat it measures
FrequencyHow common is this pain?
IntensityHow badly do people feel it?
Willingness to PayWould they pay for a solution?
CompetitionHow bad are existing solutions?

Hot clusters (80+) = strong opportunity Watch clusters (40-59) = needs more data

Step 4: Generate opportunity document

Go to Niche Discovery in the sidebar. Here you can generate detailed analysis documents from your top clusters.

Click Generate from Cluster and select a high-scoring cluster. The AI (Claude Opus) produces an 11-section analysis:

  • Executive summary
  • Market size estimate
  • Target audience
  • Competitive landscape
  • MVP features
  • Pricing strategy
  • Go-to-market plan
  • Timeline and risks
  • Build / Skip recommendation

Step 5: Validate with outreach

A document is a theory. Validation makes it real.

  1. Create a product for the niche
  2. Add leads who match the target audience
  3. Send personalized outreach
  4. Go to Niche Discovery → open your document → Validation tab
  5. Click Run Validation

The validation score compares your reply rate to industry benchmarks (2.5% average). Score 70+ = confirmed demand.
