How email tracking works
Outlix tracks what happens after you send an email.
What's tracked
| Event | How it works | Accuracy |
|---|---|---|
| Delivered | Server confirms acceptance | ~99% |
| Opened | Tracking pixel loads | ~60-70%* |
| Clicked | Link redirect tracking | ~95% |
| Replied | Webhook from provider | ~99% |
| Bounced | Server rejection | ~99% |
*Some email clients block images, so not all opens are tracked.
Automatic status updates
Based on tracking events, lead statuses update:
| Event | Status becomes |
|---|---|
| Email sent | Contacted |
| Opened/clicked | Engaged (if you configure this) |
| Replied | Replied |
| Bounced | Bounced |

Privacy considerations
Email tracking uses industry-standard methods:
- Tracking pixel (1x1 transparent image)
- Link wrapping (redirect through our server)
Every email includes an unsubscribe link. When used:
- Tracking stops
- No more emails sent
- Lead status updates to Unsubscribed
